PRECIOUS METALS
We work with a selection of precious metals chosen for their beauty, durability and suitability for fine jewellery.
Gold
Gold is valued for its beauty and versatility.
Common purities:
| Metal | Gold Content | Stamp |
|---|---|---|
| 18ct | 75% | 750 |
| 14ct | 58.5% | 585 |
| 9ct | 37.5% | 375 |
Higher carat gold contains more pure gold, resulting in a richer colour.
Yellow Gold — classic and timeless
White Gold — increases the brightness of setting, may be rhodium finished
Rose Gold — soft, warm pink tone
Platinum
A rare, naturally white metal known for its strength and durability.
Palladium
A naturally white, alternative to platinum.
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver (92.5% pure) offers a bright, white finish. It may tarnish over time but can be easily polished and maintained.. It's a little bit softer than the above metal.
Vickers Scale of Hardness
Interesting fact: contrary to popular belief, according to the International Vickers Testing Method, 18ct gold is actually harder than 9ct gold (with platinum being harder still)
| 9ct gold | 110 |
| 18ct gold | 150 |
| Platinum | 200 |
