Rachel joined Moorcroft in 1993 aged 24 as only the fourth Moorcroft designer in 100 years. A true disciple of William Morris and a designer whose work is collected world-wide, Rachel can produce work of unsurpassed brilliance. Her designs already command premium prices in the major salesrooms of the world. As a designer, she is exceptionally adept at introducing limited editions, whilst her already popular range Chocolate Cosmos, with flourishes of rich, Chocolate-coloured petals, is debuted in the 2014 Moorcroft catalogue, with a powerful appeal to collectors of floral designs. Born to the job is how Rachel sees herself. Most would agree.
The 2014 Moorcroft Catalogue also sees the arrival of two other new designs by Rachel, but excludes the must-anticipated ceramic beauties she works on and releases throughout the year. Limited edition, Tranquillity is Rachel’s latest water lily design in which the cream-coloured flower sits neatly in the palm of a darkening lily pad, attracting the attention of jewel-coloured dragonflies. The lower part of the vase hosts delicate irises with leaves in dusky green, melting into the cool trickle of water at the bottom of the vase.
Illumination, her third design for 2014 and also a limited edition, incorporates ‘Foxglove Illumination Pink’, the flower which took the deserved title of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Plant of the Year in 2012. This tall, sleek vase also harbours little red ladybirds working their way through the undergrowth.
In 2014, Rachel continues to astound, enrapture and delight enthusiasts with her styling and colour choice, in the same way that she has done for over twenty years.
